Services

Research & Analysis

We work with you to identify and analyze the harmful and helpful narratives affecting your social impact sector. Through stakeholder interviews, media, story and historical research, and facilitated workshops, we:

  • Map dominant and latent narratives impacting progress
  • Conduct power and voice analyses to understand how narratives are moving

  • Identify narrative gaps and opportunities

Strategy & Campaign Design

We develop narrative and campaign strategies, whether you are translating applied research for new audiences or launching new campaigns to change narrative landscapes, we strategically design the following types of campaigns:

  • Multi-media and digital projects

  • Collective storytelling projects

  • Public art and place-based projects

Frameworks & Reports

We publish our own learnings and frameworks we develop, and we also collaborate to distribute these tools for the social impact sector more broadly. Narrative change needs coordinated efforts, so in this pursuit, we publish:

  • Translations of original research that can contribute to narrative change

  • Toolkits, reports and narrative messaging guides

  • Frameworks for measuring narrative, perception and behavior change

Collaborative Approach //

Narrative is inherently interdisciplinary.

We work with media and academic researchers, data scientists, creatives, storytellers, and impact strategists to bring our projects to life.

Reach out below to work together.

Narratives saturates every aspect of our collective existence – from the stories we tell about our nation’s history to the way we frame current events, from the shape of our identities to the scientific paradigms that drive our understanding of the world. These narratives influence our public discourse, education systems, social movements, legal frameworks, and even our personal beliefs and behaviors.

Narratives are the lenses through which we interpret reality and the tools we use to construct our shared future. And they determine whose future we are living in and working toward.

In an era of information overload and increasing polarization, the ability to critically examine and weild narratives is crucial for a healthy, pluralistic society. By understanding the narratives that shape our world, we gain the power to unite communities or divide them, inspire social change or reinforce the status quo.

Our mission is to understand the narratives shaping beliefs and behaviors, and to harness these insights for transformative social change. We combine research across multiple disciplines, including an emphasis on participatory, lived experience to understand the patterns and powers guiding our world views.

By translating complex findings into practical strategies, we work in tandem with social impact practitioners to create more effective, lasting change.

Our work bridges thinking, feeling and doing of how we approach topics and stories, enabling organizations to address root causes rather than symptoms. We strive to accelerate pro-social initiatives by equipping change-makers with the tools to reframe narratives and shift behaviors.

The values that guide our work are:

  1. Intellectual and Creative Curiosity: A deep commitment to understanding complex human behaviors and beliefs
  2. Integrity: Maintaining rigorous standards in research and analysis and admitting when we’re wrong about our assumptions
  3. Collaboration: Working closely alongside those with lived experience, subject matter experts, and partners to create shared knowledge
  4. Adaptability: Embracing new insights and adjusting strategies as understanding creates shape
  5. Transparency: Being open about methodologies and findings to build on a shared body of work in the field of narrative change

Through our work, we aim to reinforce and accelerate the work of social impact strategists, and to foster a more open and adaptive society.
